Habitat for Humanity's
Presbyterian Build Gets Underway |
 |
 |
We are ready to start the Portland Presbyterian Build! After a very busy summer that included merging with Mt. Hood Habitat for Humanity and blitz-building five homes, Habitat now has all the building permits and approvals to start building the Presbyterian Faith Build Home. The house will be one unit of a faith triplex in the SE Martins Street Lents neighborhood. The new owners will be the La family from Viet Nam. |
Volunteer Opportunities: The start-up date for volunteering is September 27, with Thursday through Saturday volunteer opportunities running through December.
*10-person teams to work from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
*2-3 person teams to supply lunch for 16-18 people
| Please contact the church or Habitat, if you would like to volunteer. |
 |
Finances:
We are still a little short of the $30,000 goal to build this house, so if you can help, let us know. Habitat is always in need of your on-going generosity in order to keep building homes for people in need. Find out more at Habitat for Humanity Portland
Mt. Scott Meals Program
 |
Mt. Tabor partners with Mt. Scott Park Presbyterian Church to provide hot meals for the poor. A hot meal is provided every Thursday night in that church's basement. An eager group from Mt. Tabor cooks and serves one of the meals each month. About 75-100 people are served a nutritious meal each week through this program.
If you would like to volunteer,
just contact the church. |
