Beauty...
Warmth... Awe...
Mt. Tabor Church offers all of this for your wedding, whether
large or small, formal or informal. The 1910 craftsman style
sanctuary and its adjacent chapel both offer settings for
a wedding just the way you imagined it.
How can I reserve Mt. Tabor Church for my wedding?
- Come by for a tour, visit a worship service, meet the staff.
- Check the availability of your date on the church calendar.
This can be done by phone or email.
- Once
you have made your decision, turn in your Wedding Information
Form.
- We
will verify staff and facility availability and clarify any
questions we may have.
- Secure
your date by paying your applicable deposits (link to fees
page). This reserves
your date on
the church and
staff calendars.
- We
will make more detailed information about the church available,
including names and
phone numbers of the pastor
and staff who will be working with you
on your wedding.
Congratulations!
May God bless you!
Miscellaneous
Wedding Policies
- Your
wedding at Mt. Tabor includes the use of a member of our
pastoral staff to
meet with you
to plan the ceremony
and to officiate. If
you wish your pastor to be part of your ceremony, this may
be arranged
with our
pastor.
- We
require that the wedding couple undergo marriage counseling
from a Christian perspective.
We encourage you to do this
with your own
pastor because we
believe it will be most helpful to you
to have that relationship to build upon. If you
are not currently active in a church
or if your pastor is unavailable, our pastor will provide
the counseling
or help
you to make other
arrangements.
- Wedding
fees must be paid to the office at least two weeks prior
to the ceremony.
- Rehearsals
usually take place the day before the wedding in the late
afternoon
or early evening. We allow 90 minutes
for the rehearsal,
so out of respect
for everyone's time, please try to
be prompt for your scheduled
time. This is included
in the wedding fee.
- The
service of a sound technician is included in the wedding
package.
The
sound technician will make an audio
tape of
the wedding if desired.
- The
furniture in the sanctuary is carefully placed and holds
spiritual
meaning. We
ask that it not be moved. Paraments
(the
cloth hangings
on the sanctuary furniture)
are changed according to the
liturgical calendar. If you would like white
paraments,
just ask.
- We
are security conscious; however, we are not liable for
loss or theft
of your valuables. Please have
someone who
will be responsible
for your wedding
gifts and other belongings.
- Alcohol,
smoking, or drugs are not allowed on any church property,
including
the parking lot (see note
on
receptions).*
- Rice
or birdseed is not to be used on church property,
including the
parking lot. Bubbles are
a
good alternative.
The Wedding Coordinator
One of our wedding coordinators
will be assigned to help
you with your
wedding. She will meet
with you several times
before the day
of your
wedding to arrange
all details. She can advise
you about church policies
and procedures
and
will work with you to make
sure that your
wedding is pleasing
to everyone
concerned.
You should consult with
the Wedding Coordinator
before
making any
special arrangements,
including music, flowers,
and pictures.
Our
Wedding Coordinator
will work with
the pastor to ensure that
everything runs smoothly
the day of the
wedding.

Music
In general, we ask you to remember that music suitable
for the wedding service directs attention to God and expresses
the faith
of the church.
Mt. Tabor will provide you with an organist who is familiar
with our organ. The Organist's fee
is included in the basic fee for
your wedding
and is not
optional.
The organist will meet with you at
least once to go over music selections for your ceremony.
All of our organists
are familiar
with music appropriate
for a
Christian wedding.
Recorded
music,
or any other special music is to be arranged with the Organist
at least a month in advance of the ceremony
and must
be available
at the
rehearsal.
You may want to arrange to have
soloist(s) for your wedding. Please
be in communication with our Organist
about any
arrangements you
make for other
musicians. Note that
it is customary to pay the Organist
an additional $25 for each soloist
in the ceremony that she/he accompanies.
The
Organist requires
at
least one
rehearsal
ahead of time with each soloist
before the day of the wedding,
preferably scheduled to take place
before the day of the
rehearsal.
